Built for speed. Optimized for SEO.
Compliant with rules.

GSTCalc is a free, professional, ad-free suite of Indian tax tools designed to streamline financial calculations. Discover how our client-side architecture meets the strict legal mandates of Indian GST laws.

100% Local-First Architecture

Typical tax directories sell your customer lists, sales turnovers, and proprietary search logs to loan brokers and advertising agencies.

On GSTCalc, no calculation data leaves your browser. Everything executes completely in local memory. When you close the browser tab, all calculated records are wiped. Zero database leaks, zero risk.

Section 170 Compliance

Generic calculators rely on basic JavaScript float operators, which cause fractional pricing errors. Indian tax legislation mandates specific rounding procedures:

  • CGST Act Section 170: Fractions of a rupee must be rounded to the nearest Rupee (ignore parts below 50 paise, round 50 paise and above up to one Rupee).
  • Exact Split-Balancing: Ensures total CGST and SGST sum up exactly to the total rounded GST liability, eliminating 1-rupee ledger discrepancies.

Change the values below to see how standard decimal math fails, and how our split-balancing engine complies with Indian legal standards.

Simulation Parameters

Use fractional taxable values (e.g. ₹123.50 at 18%) to trigger decimals where CGST & SGST splits require balancing.

Tax ComponentStandard Float MathNaive RoundingGSTCalc (Balanced)
CGST Component₹11.115₹11.00₹11.00
SGST Component₹11.115₹11.00₹11.00
Total GST Payable₹22.23₹22.00₹22.00
⚠️
Naive Rounding Error

Rounding components independently splits odd-value decimals incorrectly. E.g., a total GST of ₹23.00 splits to CGST ₹11.50 & SGST ₹11.50. Naive math rounds both up to ₹12.00, generating a discrepancy of ₹1.00.

🛡️
Balanced Compliance

GSTCalc resolves this by rounding the total GST first (₹23.00), then dividing it. The leftover rupee is auto-adjusted (e.g. ₹12 CGST + ₹11 SGST), satisfying Section 170 of CGST Act 2017.

GST Calculator Online India

Our core online tool supports dual calculation modes to instantly determine inclusive and exclusive tax values under standard tax brackets (3%, 5%, 12%, 18%, and 28%).

HSN & SAC Code Directory

Every transaction requires classification. HSN (Harmonized System of Nomenclature) codes apply to physical items, whereas SAC (Services Accounting Codes) identify service-oriented billing lines.

Our directory provides access to categorized codes and active tax slabs, ensuring you find the right matching code without navigating complex Government PDF documents.

Offline GSTIN Check & Profiler

GSTIN stands for Goods and Services Tax Identification Number. It has a strict 15-character structure:

Characters 1-2: State Code (e.g. 27 for Maharashtra, 07 for Delhi)

Characters 3-12: PAN of the legal taxpayer entity

Character 13: Entity number of same PAN holder in state

Character 14: Fixed character "Z" by default

Character 15: Checksum digit (validated offline via Mod 36)

Reverse Charge GST Calculator

Under the standard framework, the supplier deposits GST taxes. In a Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM), liability shifts directly to the recipient/buyer of the goods or services.

RCM applies specifically to goods/services purchased from unregistered dealers, legal services, and certain import scenarios. GSTCalc allows CAs to isolate RCM liabilities for fast journal entries.

The Evolution of GST Tools in India

Why tax software went from functional tools to ad-bloated advertising farms.

GST is Introduced

Indian tax frameworks shift to GST. Standard tools emerge to help small businesses figure out complex CGST, SGST, and IGST breakdowns.

The Rise of Ad Pollution

Major tax directories get acquired by financial conglomerates. They add multiple analytical scripts, tracking cookies, and heavy pop-up advertisements, making pages sluggish.

GSTCalc is Created

We build GSTCalc as a direct response: a fully functional PWA tax utility. Running 100% locally in browser cache, it operates fast without tracking algorithms or ad interference.
